​Each week, we will be uploading rules questions to the Rules Question page, which will be discussed at the pre race briefing. Please come along.

​The Racing Rules of Sailing  are set by World Sailing and updated every 4 years following the Olympic Games. The 2025 to 2028 set will take effect on 1 January 2025 and can be read here.

While this document has almost 170 pages, the first 22 pages will be the focus of our rules questions and discussions. These include Definitions, Part 1 Fundamental Rules and Part 2 When Boats Meet. 

New to the rules? Australian Sailing has made a very simple guide.  

A fun and educational way to test your understanding of the rules is this  online rules quiz.  There are three levels, easy, medium, difficult.

Sailzing is a great resource with videos and animations. Many of our weekly questions draw upon their work.
